What an Intergroup is
Our primary purpose is to help groups carry the message.
Prescott Area Intergroup is a central office established by the local A.A. groups to do together what no single group can do alone. It is not a governing body. Group representatives, a service board, district liaisons, and committee chairs meet once a month for a group conscience and business meeting.
The office also carries liability insurance for the facilities where member groups hold their meetings.
The office does this every week
Refers callers to A.A. meetings.
Organizes Twelfth Step work and maintains volunteer/12 step lists.
Sells conference-approved A.A. literature.
Maintains the meeting directories and the printable schedule.
Produces the monthly newsletter.
Supports the P.I./C.P.C., Treatment and Corrections committees.
Holds the spring and summer picnics and the holiday Alcathon.

Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting.
The groups fund this office themselves, month by month, through the basket that goes around at the end of a meeting. The office declines contributions from anyone outside A.A.
